For many years we have enjoyed group tent
camping with our friends, the Means at
Disney's Fort
Wilderness Campground, Creekside Meadow area. We camp
sometime between Christmas and New Years Day. This year
we took in the
Hoop Dee Doo Revue and the
Ginger Bread House at
the
Grand Floridian Hotel. We also swam at the
Wilderness Lodge heated pool and relaxed in their 106-degree sauna
and caught the monorail at the
Contemporary Restort.
We watched the movie
"UP" on the outdoor theater and most of
us bicycled everywhere we went. The finish was the
fireworks watched from the campground's beach/marina area.
We played a new board type game called "Wits and Wagers" and
also a few games of Texas Hold'em.
It was cold (in the low 30s) the first night.
The last day it rained at 4:30 a.m. making for a wet pack-up.
Check out the previous years to see more about our tent camping
and the amenities available at Fort Wilderness.
